AAP’s Narmada district president Niranjan Vasava was reportedly attacked by liquor smugglers, sparking strong condemnation from MLA Chaitanya Vasava. The legislator has demanded strict action against the attackers, renewing focus on illegal liquor operations and law-and-order concerns in the region.

Tension flared in Gujarat’s Narmada district after Aam Aadmi Party’s local chief, Niranjan Vasava, was allegedly assaulted by a group of liquor smugglers, prompting sharp political reactions and renewed calls for strict enforcement against illegal trade. According to party representatives, the attack occurred when Vasava confronted elements suspected of involvement in the region’s illicit liquor network, triggering a violent response from the accused individuals.

Following the incident, AAP MLA Chaitanya Vasava issued a strong condemnation, describing the assault as a direct attempt to intimidate those speaking against criminal activities in the district. He urged authorities to launch an immediate and thorough investigation and pressed for stringent action against all individuals responsible. The legislator also emphasised the need for a more robust crackdown on liquor smuggling, which continues to pose a persistent challenge in pockets of the region.

The attack on Niranjan Vasava has once again brought the issue of illegal alcohol operations into public focus, raising concerns over the safety of political workers who oppose such networks. As the administration begins formal proceedings and gathers evidence, local residents and party members await decisive action that could potentially shape future enforcement efforts. The incident marks yet another reminder of the complex battle against illicit trade in Gujarat’s dry zones and the risks faced by those who confront it.
